In your life would you describe yourself as someone who presses in toward God? Some people think spending time with God, reading the Bible, or attending a Bible study is a passive activity. God is anything BUT passive. He is GLORIOUS, and he has AMAZING things to show us. The word pressing also means to be persistent, unrelenting, and tenacious. We need to PRESS IN!

Faith Comes By Hearing

I made a comment in yesterday’s blog that we need to show up to worship when we don’t need God so that he is there when we DO need him. When we worship God, it does something for God, and it does something for us. It connects us to our Life Source, Our Creator. Our worship-softened heart then receives the spoken message, and God’s word is planted and grounded inside of us. The Holy Spirit brings that message back to our memory when we are struggling and weakened by the world.

Obedience Especially When We Are Tired

Obedience to God’s word is the path to success. Our past is NOT our future. The word is intended to build our faith. In yesterday’s blog, based on Luke 5:1-7, these guys had a failed night of fishing. Jesus asked to preach from their boats to the folks on shore and THEN told them to go back out and try fishing again. Say WHAT?! Despite their exhaustion, even though it didn’t make sense because it was the same water, they obeyed. And they brought in the haul of a lifetime.

Blessing

God wants us so blessed that there’s no question where our next check is coming from. We obey God’s word consistently, and he provides – especially when it doesn’t make sense to the world. When God blesses us, erebody, not everybody, E-RE-BODY knows we’re blessed. Our life reflects blessings that are pressed down, shaken together and overflowing with extra for others. We are blessed to be a blessing. SO PRESS IN and GO AFTER GOD WITH UNRELENTING TENACITY. Amen!
