If we know how to talk to people and make them feel at ease, then we have what it takes. If we can share our story and share what God has done in and for us without trying to make a hard sell, then we have what it takes. People NEED the love of Jesus through us; they already have the condemnation of the enemy.
Reasons We Should Tell What We Know
We commanded to GO. In Matthew 28:18-20, the Bible describes that we are to go and make disciples of all the nations.
We are commanded to GUIDE. Help other find the path. How narrow is the gate and how constricted is the road that leads to life, and there aren’t many people who find it! (Matthew 7:14)
We are GIFTED. We have everything we need to fulfill our commission. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere and to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
We are to GAB. But how can they call on him, believe in him, or hear about him unless someone tells them? (Romans 10:14)
The Great Commission
The Great Commission doesn’t require preaching in the way so many of THINK of preaching. It doesn’t require a formal education or formal training. Jesus shared his love through activities, he invited fishermen and he was a carpenter. The Great Commission can be fulfilled through our profession, through our hobbies and in our everyday tasks.
Be Encouraged!
Lord, we realize that you have given us all that we need to go and do the Great Commission. We accept the challenge to incorporate you into our everyday conversations and opportunities that you create for us. We will talk about you and what you have done in our lives. We will invite others to come to church and to get to know you. We will GO and DO! (Luke 12:43/Mark 16:15)
