I’ve talked about judging this week because it’s something that is common in our society, yet it is better left to God (Matthew 7:1). You see, what we sometimes forget is that God is not pointing his finger at us, but he is using it to draw us to him because he wants to put a ring on our finger and a robe on our back (Luke 15:22) and he wants to love on us. God doesn’t just love us as an action, HE. IS. LOVE.
Honey Draws More Flies Than Vinegar
If we catch ourselves judging a situation or a person, we might pause a second and consider that we might not know the whole story. We might even remind ourselves to leave that part to God. OUR part is to love. We are to love others (John 13:34) whether they seem to deserve it or not because technically none of us deserves his love (Romans 5:8). We don’t get what we deserve, we get what Jesus deserves. Likewise, we should pour that love, grace, and mercy into the lives other others.
God Is Love. (1 John 4:8)
Lord, I pronounce, right now, that every person here is growing in maturity. They want to spend time with you and to know you better. They claim a long life (Psalm 91:16) full of good fruit (Matthew 7:17). They understand that they can become like the world or they can say, “As for me and MY house, WE will serve the Lord!” (Joshua 24;15) We’ve got to show up to grow up. We are going to do what’s right because it’s right. We’re going to spend our life loving and helping you to help people. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
