Some people say that the Bible is no longer relevant. If we look at history, we’ll see human behaviors that span across time, and that makes the Bible timeless. The Bible tells us what to do, why, and how, and one area we receive guidance is in passing judgment.
Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged (Matthew 7:1)
The guidance is not to judge. The Bible reads, why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? First, remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye (Matthew 7:3,5). Fix yourself before you point out the problems of others.
Choose Happiness
For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you (Matthew 7:2). What comes around goes around. If we judge others, it will come back around. The less we judge, the happier we will be.
Be Selective
We are given a tool to minimize the probability of being judged. We need to be careful with how many and what types of people we share. Do not cast your pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6). Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible; wisdom is using restraint to stop talking (Proverbs 10:19). When you share your thoughts, be selective in who you share with.
Be Encouraged
God, I pray for our church family right now. All of your children matter and you will begin the work you have started in each of them. I decree and declare that you will bless them in an amount that is pressed down, shaken together and overflowing (Luke 6:38). Amen.
I Call You Blessed!
