If you are overworked, overwhelmed, a motivated workaholic, a people-pleaser and you get gratifications from the work you do and how you do it, then this is for YOU! Does life ever feel like a video game where we get more points if we can just get one more thing done today? Some people are displeased if they don’t please others. God says, “You just need to please me.” Let go and let God.

Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. (Galatians 1:10)

Labor To Enter Into Rest

Let us, therefore, strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. Hebrews 4:11

God looks at our thoughts and our heart to see if they align with what he wants us to do. There are times that God presses me, “This is not the time to figure out a problem or to build a sermon, it is time to sleep!” We struggle to let go of the need to think things through and to have all of the answers. God is up 24×7; we need to rest and let him figure things out.

It’s Not What God Tells Us To Do That Kills Us, But What We Decide To Do

What is enough? Jesus.

Jesus is enough. Jesus is all about the small things, such as spending time with him. Or obeying the last thing he told you to do. If we don’t have anything but salvation, then we have it all.

Say This With Me:

Lord, I am thankful for all that you have provided. Not because I earned it, but because you think I am pretty fantastic, and you love me dearly. I am prioritizing my life to plan in rest and to be obedient to you. I want to please you, so I will obey you first. Amen!
