Anytime I am faced with a situation where I am being pressured into a quick decision I back off. I don’t move because of pressure. If someone says, “Someone else will get in on this.” That’s when I say, “I’m out!” Folks, if someone says, “If you don’t sleep with me I’m going to move on.” Let them move on because saying no to immediate gratification shows that you have self-worth. If it’s God today, it will still be God tomorrow. We have the ability to wait.

Debt Is Doing Everything But Thinking

You have to think to get out of debt. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours (Psalm 128:2) yet interest eats most people’s fruit. They labor to pay the banker.

Map Out A Plan

It’s not hard. Figure out what you owe and what you pay in living expenses each month and compare that against your household income. You can use an online amortization calculator or Excel spreadsheet to calculate an amortization schedule (Google it). Plug in different numbers and see how fast you can pay things off by adding a few dollars to each payment or by making extra payments. Look at this roadmap and visualize what it will feel like to be debt free. Print out your plan. Post it where you can see it daily. Print one for every bill, hang it on the fridge and start chipping away at the lowest balance.

Be Encouraged!

Lord, I pray that each person reading this receives this word with gladness. I pray that they know this word is for them and that they embrace the ability to wait. I pray that they have self-worth and are disciplined to stop creating or adding to their debt. I pray they get radical about getting out of debt, that they will serve you and sow where they grow. Amen!
