90% With God’s Blessing Goes Further Than 100% Without God’s Blessing

Have you ever been tempted to use your tithe for something else? To rationalize that God doesn’t really need it. Or it would be nice to give it to a missionary instead of a local church? In our society, we are good at rationalizing. I know I have done it enough in my life such as when I wanted a particularly nice car that ended up being a lemon and in the repair shop all of the time. We THINK we can do it on our own. We get confident and we can be tempted to hold out on God. Please let me offer this… DON’T!

Do We Round Up Or Round Down? What Would We Want Done For Us?

I’ve talked about God’s blessings, let me ask you this. If someone owed you money and was paying you back, wouldn’t it be nice if they rounded up out of appreciation for the loan? Wouldn’t it be nice if our employer rounded up our paycheck to the next $100? At times, we can “cheap out” on God and give Him the bare minimum. But I have to say that if God is going to be handing out blessings, I want Him to round up for me, so I round up for Him.

We Aren’t Earning Our Way To Heaven. We Aren’t Trying To Be Deserving Of Blessings.

We can’t DO anything to make God love us more than He does right now. When we accept Jesus into our heart and repent of our sins, we’re in there! But to have heaven on earth requires our obedience to His whispers. Our obedience to Him often translates to someone else getting a blessing.

Do You Like To Receive Things From People Who Happily Give You Things?

When I give my wife a gift, she carefully reads the card. She reads every word. At times, I think she likes the card better than the gift. That’s because to her, what’s in my heart is more important to her than what’s in my hand.

God wants us to WANT to give back to Him. He would like to know that He is a priority in our time, talent and treasure. No matter how busy we are, there is somewhere in His Kingdom that we can plug in to make a difference. Remember work with what you’ve got, where you are, right now. And always know that, for God, it’s about our heart attitude first. He’ll take our money when we are grumpy about it, but we won’t necessarily get blessed.

God wants your heart today. Does He have it? Does it show in your actions?

Give And Take: Get Plugged In

If you don’t have a church home, I’d like to encourage you to get plugged in to one. We would love to have you be a part of our Faith Church family whether locally or through our online campus. Whatever you choose, know that we are praying for you, we love you and we want you to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I call you blessed!
