There once was a young man handing out candy on Halloween until he ran out of candy. This young man remembered that he had a personal stash of candy. (Hey, we all have one.) He ran to get his personal stash and started handing it out to the kids. When his dad asked why he did that he said, “I gotta give more. I gotta take what I have, and I have to give it to them.” He also knew that his dad would give him more AND that it just felt good to give.

Jesus Said It First

Jesus said, “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. (Luke 6:38) For better understanding, try to picture someone giving you a measuring cup full of grapes or figs. Then imagine them being pressed down so that more can be added. Shaken together relates to getting the measuring cup to settle so as to add more. This verse references giving and receiving and receiving an amount overflowing what was originally given.

God Wants Us To Be Blessed So That We Can Be A Blessing To Others

Lord we know that the more we are blessed, then the more we can pour out our blessings on others. We know that our increase benefits the kingdom. We will not pray broke prayers, but we will pray bold prayers for an increase. We are thinking BIG and we are prepared to share our blessings. We will trust that you will keep our cup overflowing and running over. In Jesus Name, Amen!
