What happens when we don’t stake a tent firmly into a solid foundation on a windy day? The tent that would be fine on a calm day is blown away when the winds begin to blow. We need to grab a hold of God’s word and think about it, repeat it, listen to it, and get it embedded in our heart. Without a foundation in the word the busyness of life will push it to the side. We need it to be easily accessible as we walk through each days’ challenges.

The Sower (Matthew 13:1-23)

In the Bible, the sower is planting seeds. Some of the seeds fall on dry earth, and some get scorched by the sun, wither up and blow away. Some of the seed falls among thorns. The rest of the seed falls on good, moist soil. When we come to church are we ready to receive the Word in our heart so that it stays? Or is it easily stolen by the devil as soon as the first person cuts us off while driving home?

This Trial Isn’t About You; It’s About Them

I didn’t wake up today feeling like a pastor and angels don’t bring me angel food of milk and honey. You have to fight. This trial is about the people you are going to change; it’s not about you. It’s about the people you are going to employ; it’s not about you. You are THIS close to changing the lives of others. This is not about you; it’s about them. I encourage you to fight the good fight and get the word deep into your heart starting today.
