When I ask if you know someone who is upside down, I’m not just referring to someone who does handstands or acrobatics. I’m speaking of the people who get loan after loan, credit card after credit card. It’s the person whose debt exceeds the value of their assets so the person can’t even sell their property to get out of debt. In the world’s eyes, upside down is when our debts are higher than our assets and THAT is out of balance.

A Different Way Of Viewing Spending

It is hard to start making those right decisions such as staying home when our friends are at the movies or cooking at home instead of eating out. Cutting back in spending means we aren’t buying things, AND we aren’t being charged interest for the things aren’t buying. We save double!

Be Faithful Over The Little Things

When we are faithful over little, God makes us faithful over much (Matthew 25:23). When he sees us being good stewards of his resources, he blesses us abundantly. When he can trust us to do the right thing with a little, he will trust us with much. God isn’t going to reward bad behavior. He doesn’t want us to be a slave to the lender (Proverbs 22:7). He wants us to have freedom.

Be Encouraged!

Lord, I decree and declare that my friends reading this today are removing the bank from their payroll. They are making good decisions, cutting back, and they WILL KNOW the freedom of having credit cards with no balances and driving a car that is paid off. We aren’t just supposed to survive tough times; we are supposed to thrive. We are not to allow debt to rule us. The blessing of the LORD establishes wealth, and difficulty does not accompany it (Proverbs 10:22) I call you blessed! Amen!
