Feelings are fickle. They go up and down with our blood sugar. We cannot trust our feelings. Here’s what happens. When you freak out, your chest might begin to contract, you start to breathe faster and become anxious. Then you start thinking, oh I know she’s going to die. She has breast cancer. I finally found a good woman, and I’m going to lose her.
Don’t Focus On What You Feel But On What God Says!
“With long life I will satisfy you.” (Psalm 91:16)
“Never have I seen the righteous forsaken.” (Psalm 37:25)
“By His stripes, we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
Then We Stop Focusing On What God Says And We Roller Coaster Back To Our Emotions
– The boy is going to die
– The business is going to die
– They took all my clients
– They’re going to take the house
Joseph Experienced Pressure From All Directions
He was:
– thrown into a pit and left to die
– pulled out of the pit and sold into slavery
– became positioned to run a household in the palace
– a woman sexually harassed him, so he ran away from her
– he was thrown into prison for something he didn’t do
– he had a good attitude and rose to a position of leadership in the prison system
We Need To Remind Ourselves Of How Far We’ve Come
Joseph reminded himself that he was walking by faith and not by sight. He had to tell himself, “I am built for this, and God has brought me through it.” Joseph was in his lane, doing his thing, working under pressure, and he moved up into prominence.
You’re Stronger Than The Last Time This Happened
The last time something happened, the devil said you weren’t going to make it, and yet you made it! You’re stronger than you were the last time this happened. This thing is NOT bigger than God. You are the only limiting factor in your situation. Are you holding yourself back by your attitude towards it? Whatever you do, don’t limit God. I encourage you to choose to believe you were built for this and you WILL OVERCOME!
