Have you been surprised by something that happened in your life? I was thinking about all of the people in the Bible who were surprised at one time or another. God never says, “Oh my God what are we going to do?” God is the first, the last, the beginning, and the end (Revelation 22:13). There is no throwing a surprise birthday party for God.

It Didn’t Take God By Surprise When…

…You got the diagnosis
…You didn’t get the contract.
…The economy went down.

God Turns Messes Into Messages

The greater the trouble, trial, or tribulation, the greater the glory. I think Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were surprised when Jesus showed up in the furnace. I was surprised when I was divorced and depressed, and God showed up. He told me to start acting like everything was right, even though it
clearly was not.

I Have Been Surprised When That Next Level Comes

The pain of widowhood passes. The pain of divorce fades when that new love comes along. Had I known this awesome woman was waiting for me I would have gotten over my divorce much faster. Your breakthrough and promotion is so huge the devil is fighting you HARD!

Be Encouraged!

Lord, we may find ourselves surprised, but we are so thankful that YOU are never surprised. You have a plan to work things out for our good (Romans 8:28) and the worse our situation looks, the more glory you’re going to get when we come through it. Thank you for walking with us through the fire. Amen!
