The Bible reads that we will know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:16). The Bible also reads to judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? (Matthew 7:1-3). While the Bible tells us how to judgement is applied, it also says that WE should not judge.

The Difference

When God judges, he looks at our fruit and our heart. He knows where each of us is at in our walk with him. When man judges it is based on appearance and behavior and both of these can be deceptive. The poor man may be giving his all, and the rich man may not even be giving 1/10th. One person may be serving with joy and enthusiasm and another may be smiling but serving out of a sense of grudging obligation. If we judge those situations, we will likely be way off base, and THEN, however we judge, that is how we will also be judged.

Only God Knows

God is the only one who knows the heart. We should leave the judging to him, and love others so that they come to know him. We should be focused on getting our own hearts and attitudes in the right place with God than focusing on where we THINK others are. God wants a relationship with each one of us as individuals. He doesn’t want us comparing ourselves.

Be Encouraged

God wants us talking directly to him and he’ll tell us where the tweaks are needed in our life. But to keep the love flowing through his family, he wants us to love one another and to stay away from the judging. It’s not difficult; we can do this. We simply focus on God, on what God has to say to us, and then we love others. Easy Peezy!

I call you blessed. Amen!
