Swimming with Sharks

Back before we were pastors, Nicole had a very successful career in technology sales. She used to reel in some pretty BIG clients!

One particular time, she arranged for some customers to fly into town and play golf. (She was about to set the hook. Ha!) But, some of the other guys in the office got wind of the deal.

When the day rolled around for the big meeting, Nicole found out that those guys had moved the outing to the previous day and STOLEN her client!

She was really upset about being outwitted. (I was really upset about losing that big commission check.) We had glimpsed success… but now it was gone! Or was it?

Who’s on your boat makes a BIG difference!

Nicole and I prayed for God to give her extraordinary favor. I reminded her, “Nicole, you’re as good as everyone there! You know, other people can steal your recipe but they can’t bake your cake!”

She decided not to go down in defeat. She decided to FIGHT BACK! Thankfully, she had plenty of emails and other proof that the client was rightfully hers, and she DID get her commission check!

If we don’t feel anything pulling on our line, anymore, sometimes we just assume that the big one got away! But we’re a lot closer than we think to pulling that thing from the UNSEEN to the seen world.

Be patient… just one more tug and IT’S HOOKED!
