Once we get past the holidays each year, people begin to think about getting in shape for the warm season. Getting a trainer to help walk you through a workout in the most productive way is much like what the Holy Spirit does in guiding us with small whispers as we walk through our day.

It’s Not About Going Fast; It’s About Form

When I first got a trainer, he wanted me to do a plank, and it was so hard. He told me how to do it, and that I was doing it wrong. I didn’t like that. Then he made me hold it even longer than I wanted to. When I was doing free weight, he told me I was going too fast. He said, “It’s all about form, it’s not about going fast.” He corrected me; it was hard and at times felt like my trainer was slowing me down. But when I have a trainer I go further faster.

Success Is Remembering And Obeying The Instructions

Having a trainer helps us get more out of life and to be more successful. The Holy Spirit is on the inside of us and speaking to us about things we learn out of the word or in church. My trainer is not with me 24/7, but I can still hear his words, “You’re going too fast, It’s not about going fast, it’s about form.” The Holy Spirit is there all the time to lead and guide us.

24/7 Recall Ability

But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you. (John 14:26)

Be Encouraged!

Lord, just as we would obey a trainer that we pay to tell us what to do, let us willingly obey the Holy Spirit as he gently corrects and guides us through our day. Amen!
