When I was a kid, if a bad driver cut my dad off in traffic, he’d say something like, “I hope that guy pulls closer because I wanna see what a real MORON looks like!”
If he got REALLY angry, then he’d follow the guy and confront him. He’d walk up to the car window and proceed to argue with them until they threatened to call the cops.
That’s when my dad would pull out his badge. “You wanna call a cop? Here I am!”
Road rage is NOT a healthy way to react for anyone!
That same anger got passed down from my grandpa to my dad, and then on to me. This is why the renewing of our minds through the Word is so important. It’s the only way to BREAK those destructive generational cycles.
Sometimes, I catch myself having one of those negative knee-jerk reactions. I say things I don’t mean and I say mean things. When your heart is overwhelmed then it’s your circumstances that control your life.
Respond according to THE WORD, not according to the world. And don’t allow a temporary emotional overload to “trip your trigger”!
Have a great day, today! I call you BLESSED!
Thank you pastor Dave, I have had a really rough time growing up I became angry and some people even told me your eyes are pure black when I am angry it scares people. I have been doing better I have God to thank even though I was hurt in all the ways possible by people I over came my anger and just looked to the sky and bowed down and thank God, he has and is always there for me.
Great pic! I’ve made it my life’s mission to break the generational curse that has plagued my family for at least the past three generations. In respect to my actions, I find myself thinking, “Would I want my daughter to treat my future grandchildren this way?” It helps most of the time! Lol! I’ve never attended a church with a pastor who is as transparent as transparency gets! It’s refreshing and shocking at the same time! (OMGoodness) It definitely shows that you want to make a real “connection” with the sheep, in which you shepherd, and not just make an “impression!” I’m praying for your continued health and strength in the Lord. Thanks for all you have allowed Him to do through you!
